Video Script:
F chord
the first chord in these two measures of this guitar song is F, which we have already come across previously
play it as before
with the left hand
barre strings 1 & 2 at the 1st fret
place your 2nd finger on the 3rd string, 2nd fret
and the 3rd finger on the 4th string, 3rd fret
and with the right hand
“p” plays the 4th string
“i” plays the 3rd string
“m” plays the 2nd string
and “a” plays the 1st string
You can find the Guitar Tab on the bottom of the video screen
Fm chord
the 2nd chord in this measure is Fm
this chord shape is similar to F, but, you have to barre 3 strings
the first finger holds down
the 3rd string, 1st fret
the 2nd string, 1st fret
and the 1st string, 1st fret
the 3rd finger is placed on the 4th string, 3rd fret
this won’t be easy if you’re a beginner, but it is a good introduction to barre chords, so it’s worthwhile persevering
with the right hand
“p” plays the 4th string
“i” plays the 3rd string
“m” plays the 2nd string
and “a” plays the 1st string
C chord
the third chord in these two measures is C
we learned this chord at the beginning of the chord progression
same as before
with the left hand, place your
1st finger, on the 2nd string, 1st fret
2nd finger, on the 4th string, 2nd fret
3rd finger, on the 5th string, 3rd fret
and with the right hand
“p” plays the 5th string
“i” plays the 3rd string
“m” plays the 2nd string
“a” plays the 1st string
A7 chord
To complete these guitar lesson notes play an A7 chord
to play this chord you put your
2nd finger, on the 4th string, 2nd fret
and 3rd finger on the 2nd string, 2nd fret
with the right hand
“p” plays the 5th string
“i” plays the 3rd string
“m” plays the 2nd string
“a” plays the 1st string
if your 2nd finger is getting in the road, then you can lift it off as we are not actually playing the 4th string
F Fm C A7
The arrangement of the chords in this lesson could easily sit with the title “Jazz Chords Lesson” or “Classical Guitar Lesson” and be interesting to players of both genres.
