The music for the song Moon River was written by Henri Mancini with the lyric by Johnny Mercer. Originally sung by Audrey Hepburn in the film “Breakfast at Tiffany’s”, it has been recorded by many artists including Louis Armstrong, Andy Williams and Barbara Streisland.
It is arranged here in the key of A, which allows us to play lots of open strings which sound great on the guitar. Take the song step by step. First of all learn the chords, the chord progression and then the melody. Once you’re comfortable with what you’ve learned go on and have a go at the combined arrangement for a solo guitar performance which combines the melody with elements of the chords.
